Plastics have become an important part of our daily life. The usefulness of plastic allows it to used in everything from automobile parts to doll parts, from soft drink bottles to the refrigerators they are stored in. Collection of plastic waste is a source of livelihood for innumerable "rag - pickers", or waste collectors. Collection of plastic waste is lucrative business when compared with that of other items. Plastic waste commands the highest rate in the cycled market. The local authorities have a great task at hand to keep the environment clean, with or without plastics. If plastics were not there, paper, cloth, glass and other garbage would give enough work for local authorities to deal with. Plastic waste management is a full service plastic recycler with additional facilities capable of recycling rubber, paper, cardboard and other materials. In reality, there are more people damaging the environment than there are to clean up and beautify our surroundings. We must work together as individual and collective responsibilities. Let all the plastic companies who are involved in promoting growth of the industry joins forces. They should collaburate and find ways of creating a work force to collect and clean plasticwares from wherever they are found, liffered by all of us. Not only working collectively to clean and tidy up he environment, but in the process, we would also be creating massive employment opportunities for millions of our countryman who have no jobs and reasonable source of livelihood. Finally, it is necessary to create a waste management organization, which will function on a national level to employ rag pickers. This team will carry task of collecting plastics from the street, waste dumps, common society waste bins, directly from households, hotels, hospitals and community centers. This team should be complemented with another team with transport facility, to carry large quantities of collected waste to dump sites outside of the city limits. The third team would clean/ wash/ segregate and crush the collected waste into reusable mode either for recycling or incineration.
